InDigest 1207 Tonight

I'm hosting another InDigest 1207 reading tonight. I'm writing this late at night and I'm tired. I think it's going to be our best one ever. Don't miss it. Readers will be Darin Strauss, John Reed, and Jim Hanas. It's going to be funny. It's going to be sad. It's going to be at 7pm at LPR.

Guest blogs at InDigest & 1207 Readings Coming Up

Today marks the final day of guest blogs from author Jacob Ritari at InDigest. He blogged all week about what is wrong with the selection process for the Nobel Prize in literature and how it's take on international literature is infuriating (and why that might be the reason Yukio Mishima killed himself). Ritari is the author of the forthcoming book from Unbridled Book, Taroko Gorge.

Also, come join InDigest for two InDigest 1207 Reading Series events this week. On Saturday, at 5pm, we have author Ander Monson (whose great new book, Vanishing Point, I reviewed at Bookslut) and Sam Osterhout (of Radio Happy Hour). Then on Tuesday June 1, we've got Leigh Stein, Becca Klaver, and Zachary German at the KGB Bar at 7pm. Come have a drink. Both readings are free, and wonderful. You can find all upcoming 1207 Reading Series dates here.

Good news from InDigest and InDigest 1207 is Tuesday night

Over at the InDigest Blog we've just posted some good news. A story originally published in InDigest has one a Best of the Net award, and two poems from InDigest were finalists for the awards (Nicole Callihan, Ada Limón, and Erica Wright, respectively).

InDigest has also just been made an official member of CLMP (Council of Literary Magazine Presses).

And most importantly, tonight (kind of tomorrow right now, but soon to be tonight) is InDigest 1207 w/ poets CA Conrad and Laura Sims, and essayist Daniel Nester. As per usual things kick off with drinks at 6:30, words at 7. It's free and will be at (le) Poisson Rouge on Bleecker.

InDigest 1207 is tonight

InDigest's monthly reading series is tonight at (le) Poisson Rouge with poets Matt Hart and Nate Pritts. I will be down there with Jess hosting the reading, and there will be a lot of poetry that is better than a blog post.

Villaging

The Villager just published their list of the best things to be doing in The Village this summer. Among the list: Radio Happy Hour and The InDigest 1207 Reading Series. Hot damn. Makes me want to fillet a bear. Oh man, there are instructions below. This is my lucky day.

Deb Olin Unferth

This is pretty great. If you are in NYC she is reading at the InDigest Reading Series in April, you should come. I'm looking forward to it.

Today

It snowed in Brooklyn yesterday. Finally feels a little bit like Christmas-time. 1207 starts in two and a half days. Awesome. The Wild just announced that Gaborik is back tonight. Torn about that. Kind of want him gone. Kind of want the Wild to start scoring goals. Kind of want their five game losing streak to end. New InDigest issue in a day or two. Have five articles going up places this week after a lull of feeling like I can't write. Vacation begins in two days. Saw Dark Dark Dark and The Antlers last night, both were awesome. That's everything I was going to write about in fragments. I didn't sleep till 2pm today either, which was a problem I had yesterday.

joined by short story writer and humorist Sam Osterhout (of the Lit 6

their work, made them want to write, inspired a moment of brilliance,
or showed them how they don't want to write.

Please join us at (Le) Poisson Rouge for these amazing writers.
Drink, listen, and be merry.

All attendees will be able to listen to the writers and enjoy the fine

very special One-Year Anniversary reading in St. Paul at Coffee News
Cafe. Featured readers will include Lech Harris and Meggie Elder, with
music by Ryan Thompson (more TBA). Please join us in St. Paul for a
