Meakin recommended the author Josh Weil to me recently (whose new novel
New Valley is attracting a lot of attention). He has a great story called
"Liberation Square" that you should check out. It's a novel excerpt. Weil has a great grasp of dialogue, the story is funny and sad, and quite engaging. I recommend reading this story.

I just wanted to thank you for this post -- though I'm a little late to it. And to thank Meakin for pointing you my way. I'm really glad you liked the excerpt in New England Review; it's from a novel, indeed. Thought "The New Valley", which you mention, and is going to be out this June, is something different: three novellas. But again, thanks for reading my work and mentioning it here. It's really nice to know folks are out there experiencing what we try to put on the page.
Best,
Josh
